I'm John Gay, CFP® and I run Frisco Financial Planning LLC (FFP), a financial planning firm and Registered Investment Adviser located twenty minutes north of Dallas in Frisco, Texas (near Plano, McKinney, and Allen). I serve clients locally, throughout Texas, and across the U.S.
I advise on investments, education funding, employee benefits, retirement, and estate planning, and most other planning topics related to personal finance (I don't prepare or file tax returns, practice law, or sell insurance but I'll help you cover those bases).
My financial planning practice is unique in the following ways:
- Christian Worldview
- Solo Planner
Christian Worldview: My financial advice stems from a bible-based perspective through the lens of a Christian Worldview. If you are a Christian believer and you want to integrate your finances with your faith, you have come to the right place.
I am a Certified Kingdom Advisor (CKA®) and I have extensive training and experience guiding Christian believers in biblically-wise principles of money, possessions, and stewardship. What does the bible have to say about money?
Note: I am sensitive to those who do not wish to mix faith and finances; I work with many such individuals.
Fiduciary: A fiduciary is a professional who is legally bound to serve the interests of his clients. Many financial providers are not fiduciaries. Frisco Financial Planning is a fiduciary. My advice puts your best interests first.
Certified: I am a Certified Financial Planner™ Professional and I have knowledge and experience in all areas of personal finance. CFP® professionals are professionally trained in over one hundred inter-related financial disciplines
Fee-only: I receive no commissions or product-based compensation. I am paid solely and directly by my clients. Just like Doctors, CPA’s, and attorneys I charge a fee based on my knowledge and expertise.
Solo Planner: You deal solely with me on all matters related to your financial plan. You won't be demoted to a junior planner or call center rep.
Self-Directed: You retain control of your investment accounts. No power of attorney, no delegated trading authority. You self-implement my simple and cost-effective investment recommendations at the brokerage firm of your choice (either on your own or with my help).
